MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Russian American Business Owners Trade
Association (RABOTA) is to represent the interests of the
Russian-American business community; to support Russian-American
businesses through education, training, and the sharing of
knowledge and resources; and to create, through political action,
social and political recognition for the growing Russian-American
community in the Bay Area. RABOTA seeks to become the premier trade
association representing Russian-American companies in all
industries and areas of business activity.
RABOTA'S OBJECTIVES
To represent the interests of Russian-American businesses. To
establish a forum and structure for social and political advocacy
and political action in the Russian-American community. To engage
in advocacy and lobbying on a local, state and national level, in
support of social and/or political issues important to
Russian-American business owners and/or to the Russian-American
community at large. To provide high quality business counseling to
the Association's members. To share important business and
political information with the Association's members through a web
site and/or mailings. To provide career training and educational
opportunities for Russian Americans through internships and
Association-sponsored training programs. To provide low-cost
insurance services and a pension plan for the Association's
members. To raise funds and develop innovative benefit programs in
support of Russian American business and culture, and for the
Russian American community To provide low cost advertising and
promotional services to the Association's members.
RABOTA'S VALUES
The values that guide our organization's members are honesty,
integrity, a commitment to providing excellent services to our
community, and the belief that individual prosperity can only be
achieved through mutual cooperation and joint action. We believe
that, in working together through the Association, we can help our
community to develop and grow stronger, and enhance the quality of
life of all of its members.
UPCOMING PROJECTS
With your help we are planning to assist in the purchase and
renovation of a building for use as a cultural center for the
Russian-American community, which building will also serve as
RABOTA's headquarters. The cultural center will have classrooms,
meeting rooms, a resource center, and a banquet facility, all to
serve the needs of the Association's members and the community at
large. Through the cultural center, the Association plans to help
sponsor children's classes in the Russian language and Jewish
studies, a choice of vocational and training courses for adults, as
well as business counseling and professional services to the
Association's members and to the community at large.
